Online news outlets

Electronic publications are editorially designed, produced, or collected media content published online by electronic publication service providers for the purpose of public information, entertainment, or education, in accordance with the provisions of the Electronic Media Act and if the publication meets the conditions prescribed by the Media Act.

Books, textbooks, newsletters, catalogs, or other information carriers intended exclusively for educational, scientific, and cultural processes, advertising, business communication, the operations of commercial companies, institutes and institutions, associations, political parties, religious and other organizations, school newspapers, official gazettes of local and regional self-government units, and other official announcements, posters, flyers, brochures, and banners, as well as video pages without live images and other free notices, are not considered media. Such publications cannot become electronic publications or be entered into the register.

The conditions for entry into the Register of Electronic Publication Providers are prescribed by the Rulebook on Conditions for Entry into the Register of Electronic Publication Providers, and the content of the application is prescribed by the Instruction on the Register of Media Service Providers and Electronic Publications.

Applications for electronic publications in the Register are submitted via the Agency’s Information System (ISA).

The Council for Electronic Media decides on the application after the applicant submits a complete and duly filled application.
